Amidst the ongoing challenges of water availability in many regions across Indonesia, Ademos Indonesia is a driving force for change in Bojonegoro Regency. Ademos supports various sustainable solutions to ensure communities have sufficient access to clean water. Through programs such as drilling wells, geoelectrical water availability assessments, and rainwater harvesting, Ademos strives to provide targeted solutions that have a real impact on the community.
The Water Crisis in Bojonegoro and Ademos' Efforts
Bojonegoro, a region frequently experiencing drought during the dry season, faces significant challenges in meeting its clean water needs. 108 villages consistently experience water shortages during the dry season, especially when natural water sources dry up. Recognizing this challenge, Ademos Indonesia has stepped in with a data- and technology-driven approach to find the best solution.
One of Ademos's initiatives is the construction of drilled wells in areas where clean water access is difficult or where potable water availability is frequently challenged. With the right technology, these drilled wells can reach deep groundwater sources, eliminating the need for communities to rely solely on rainfall. Furthermore, Ademos employs geoelectrical methods, a technology that allows for more accurate mapping of underground water sources. This approach allows drilling to be conducted in locations with genuine water potential, reducing the risk of failure and ensuring resource sustainability.
Rainwater Harvesting: A Simple Solution with a Big Impact
In addition to focusing on exploring underground water sources, Ademos also encourages the community to utilize rainwater optimally. Through the Bojonegoro rainwater harvesting initiative, residents are encouraged to collect and store rainwater in special tanks or reservoirs. Residents also receive hands-on training on rainwater harvesting installations, which can be used for daily needs, such as bathing, washing, and even agricultural irrigation.
The concept of rainwater harvesting is not new, but its implementation at the community level still needs to be encouraged. Ademos provides education and mentoring, teaching how to build effective and safe water storage systems. This program can reduce community dependence on groundwater sources, thereby maintaining ecosystem balance.
With the various programs already implemented and the support of the community, Ademos is optimistic that these steps will bring about real change. Going forward, the organization also plans to expand its program reach, collaborate with more parties, and develop more innovative technologies to address water challenges in Bojonegoro and other areas.
