Village economic development begins with the active participation of its residents, strengthened by the commitment of the Village Government and the Regional Government. This is the foundation for the development of the economic ecosystem in Gayam Village, Gayam District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java.

"After building the market and other facilities, today we will open a mini market that we call BUMDesMart," said Gayam Village Head, Winto, during the socialization of the Economic Development Program through Village-Owned Enterprises in Bojonegoro, Tuesday (30/04/2024).

At the village deliberation forum, Winto solicited opinions, input, and suggestions from all elements of the community. Among those present were the Gayam Village officials, the Village Representative Body, the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDesa) management, neighborhood unit (RT) and community unit (RW) officials, community leaders, and the Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) management.

The village head told the forum that the development of the BUMDesMart is supported by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL), the operator of the Banyu Urip Oil Field. He stated that, as part of EMCL's Community Development Program (PPM), the minimarket development will be completed in 2024. Therefore, the benefits of this public facility will be felt by the community in the near future.

Meanwhile, EMCL representative, Feni K Indiharti, said that this PPM support could be implemented this year with the approval of SKK Migas.

Feni hopes that Village-Owned Enterprises can contribute to increasing Village Original Income (PADesa), thereby supporting village independence in the long term and sustaining it.

"We also ask for support from the Village Government and the community to participate in supporting and maintaining the operations of the Banyu Urip Field in the Cepu Block," he said.

To implement this program, EMCL partnered with the non-governmental organization (NGO) Ademos. As a local NGO, Ademos has extensive experience in various village economic development programs. This includes employing professional and experienced staff from villages surrounding Gayam.

The Chairman of Ademos, A Shodiqurrosyad, explained that the form of activity carried out was to continue the development of the Gayam BUMDesMart which had begun last year.

"We hope that BUMDesMart Gayam can operate this year so that it can stimulate the community's economy and contribute to increasing Village Revenue," said Arsyad.

Ademos will also encourage BUMDesMart to implement a crowdfunding scheme that collects investment funds from the public to finance BUMDesMart Gayam.

"This scheme allows for community involvement as BUMDesMart shareholders, receiving profit sharing from shares, and participating in determining the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS)," he concluded.
